Garvey on Afrikan Manhood (Part 12)

The supreme visionary Marcus Garvey dedicated is entire being to the betterment of the entire Afrikan world community. Far from being the articulation of any shallow rhetoric, Garvey uttered profound words of wisdom of mission-compelling substance to lift his people as whole. As a powerfully important part of his eternally victorious mission this great hero empowered Afrikan man to bring their natural magnificence to the fore. He eloquently, challenged Afrikan men to lift themselves to mission compelling duty thus:

“Let the [Afrikan] accumulate wealth. It will bring him power. Fellowmen of the [Afrikan] race, Greeting: Our economic condition seems, to a great extent, to affect our general status. When it is considered that 20th century civilisation pays homage to and worships peoples and nations only the basis of wealth. It should not be surprising to understand why the [Afrikan] is universally ignored. Economic independence or wealth is the recommendation of a people to the full considerations of others. With all that may be said of the morals and ethics of our time, carrying with it the suggestion of rights, liberty and justice, the whole fabric is based upon economic wealth. Either the wealth of the individual, the race or the nation. So it behoves the [Afrikan] to think in terms of economic expansion through which he may enforce the considerations that is necessary for his political, social and other betterment”.

It is by no accident or happenstance that Marcus Garvey led into fruition the greatest most impactful organized body of Afrikan world souls ever to be made manifest. This is what the divine strength and power of Afrikan manhood can do. Afrikan men must surely cast aside and purge from their being the contaminants of alien ills and lift themselves according to their true genius filled, excellent and mighty nature.

Every Afrikan man regardless of social standing, level of wealth or whatever can look into his own mirror of self and bring to the fore the best of himself. This first man of human creation can shine his light of brilliance in the imperative thrust for global Afrikan ascension, applying himself at whatever relevant or appropriate level.

Garvey forthright challenged Afrikan men to:

“Be a man by doing the deeds of men”
