Celebrating the Great Marcus Garvey and His Movement

Through the prolific works of the great Marcus Garvey and
his movement the wisdom essence of the ageless dictum Know Thyself was
rightfully, instructively and massively revived and repopularised amongst
Afrikan souls in the upper part of the 20th century (so-called). In
this, the second part of a two-part series of articles discussing this
important phrase, its latter part Thyself will be given focus.
According to a mainstream source the word thyself carries the following meaning:
“dialect form of yourself, corresponding to the subject thou”.
So, what is the Afrikan self? Here, the profound depth of wisdom that is brought forth from Marcus Garvey provides powerful insight:
“God and nature first made us what we are and then out of our own creative genius we make ourselves what we want to be”.
“Man is a part of the creation. So Universal Intelligence and man was created in the image and likeness of God, only by his intelligence. It is the intelligence of man that is like God; but man’s intelligence in only a unitary particle of God’s intelligence”.
Afrikans are of the Ultimate Divine. Yet, implications for such wisdom words are not only of identity but also mission-compelling. For example, if each Afrikan soul is a unitary particle of God’s intelligence, then naturally intelligence is surely amplified as Afrikans exercise their oneness in rightful order. Thusly inferred is that the uprightly ordered togetherness of Afrikan souls produces intelligence that is evermore God-like. Hence, the substance of the connections Afrikan souls have each to the next is of vital importance for the self is a particle of that which is greater and that which is the greatest at every level.
Further, the self-determined effort of Afrikan souls in respect of their ascension is vital functioning. If Afrikans ‘want to be’ their natural selves of normality in pinnacle civilisation, then a whim of happenstance will not yield any purpose-filled results. It is self-determined thrust of rightful order steps at a time that can secure the triumph of highly civilised living.
The Afrikan self is not stagnant nor static. The Afrikan is as the Afrikan does and the Afrikan does as the Afrikan is. It is therefore key in their imperative thrust of upright ascension that Afrikan souls safeguard themselves from contaminants of ill, self-destructive wrongdoings and the like. The great Marcus Garvey brilliantly illustrates beingness, operation and security of the self thus:
“If you love God, you need not fear God, for God is with you, and you are part of him in your goodness. You fear God only when you are conscious of being evil or wicked”.
The concluding words of this two-part series of articles are left to the prolific founder and leader of the greatest, most expansive and globally impactful movement of Afrikan souls brought into being:
“‘MAN KNOW THYSELF’ and ‘MAN KNOW THE UNIVERSE’ and ‘MAN KNOW YOUR GOD’. In searching for this knowledge you may stumble upon the truth, a revelation that may lead you up to the heights of glory to be known as the greatest soul that fathoms the depths and reaches the heights”.
