Celebrating the Wonderful Observance of Kwanzaa

Afrikan people throughout the
ages realised the necessity of genuine investment in themselves. Within the
context of their own nation, the overwhelming majority of effort exerted naturally
benefitted the growth, development and security of the Afrikan self throughout
its various levels as person, family, community, inclusive of the nation at
large and beyond. Self-determined cultivation, learning and development as vital components of Afrikan
living represent genuine investment in the self for the journeying of Afrikan ascension
to then deliver the world’s greatest and most long-lived civilisations known to
the world. The thrust of being genuine is steeped in the living knowingness of
the self throughout its various levels rooted in Afrikan spiritual-cultural
fabric. At the same time genuine investment is the product of self-determined engagement.
According to a popular mainstream platform, the word genuine is defined as being:
“truly what something is said to be; authentic”.
This is naturally important to Afrikan life as genuine investment in the self is necessarily part of the upward and onward thrust of rightful order. For example, the Afrikan King genuinely invests in himself to become steeped in living knowingness of himself consummate to his role and will establish his Queen based on her genuine investment in herself to become steeped in living knowingness of herself consummate to her leading role of support.
Another example, is the Afrikan teacher who genuinely invests in self to become steeped in living knowingness of self consummate to the role of teacher or wisdom guide. In turn, the learner invests in self to become steeped in living knowingness of self consummate to the role of student. Indeed, as learner the student can be cultivating self-knowingness inherently in the process of formal learning engagement.
It would therefore, appear that the measure of being genuine or authentic is not an absolute singular, isolated, detached endeavour nor is it uni-directional in Afrikan life. Therefore, the notion of being genuine requires a relational context to attract validity.
Of course, the interruptions and disruptions of the Maafa of recent centuries has taken a destructive toll on natural Afrikan life progress. As a result, there are Afrikans that may not be aware of the importance of genuine investment in the self, let alone being able to action it.
Still, it is only Afrikan souls themselves make such a vital investment. Here, the restoration of Afrikan living becomes key with such wonderful observance periods as Kwanzaa. It is said that each journey begins with a single step and yet for the Afrikan each step can be a powerful step of victorious ascension. As genuine efforts to cultivate, develop and secure Afrikan life takes place throughout the annual cycle, Kwanzaa is a grand time to celebrate the progress and successes of the year round journey.
According to the mainstream source the word genuine also means:
“(of a person, emotion, or action) sincere”.
In this, rather than Afrikan souls adopting an unrealistic approach of seeking absolute and instantaneous perfectibility in relation to each other that is subsequently followed by the destructive thrust of self-abandonment for even the appearance of even the slightest of imperfection – sincerity and progress ought to be brought to the fore. In other words, sincerity of rightful wisdom-filled effort to invest in self throughout the annual cycle year-on-year is a mark of being genuine.
Celebrate the yield of all-year-round efforts of genuine investment in the Afrikan self throughout its various levels with the wonderful seven-day observance of Kwanzaa.
