Celebration of First Fruits

Magnificently blessed by the Creator Supreme, the marvellous Afrikan is the first of humanity. The marvellous Afrikan empowered by the Ultimate Divine has brought forth the first, most magnificent and longest lasting civilisations that have ever come to be. This wonderful spirit people of creation have the most richly endowed journeying of any people in the world. This is the Afrikan experience richly endowed with lessons. The wonderful observance of Kwanzaa commemorates all that the Afrikan has determined to be. Even the genocidal attempts made by alien forces of the world to continually thwart or destroy the Afrikan self-determined journeying is futile as the brilliancy of the Afrikan continually shines the light of ascension in the onward thrust of liberty and nationhood. This is the Afrikan experience richly endowed with lessons. Throughout the year Afrikan people of the world cultivate, build and lift themselves pioneering new experience from the living knowingness of all that has been. From spiritual and cultural observance to observance in the annual cycle, the Afrikan experience is energised and expressed in victory. This harvest of glory is celebrated during the wonderful observance of Kwanzaa.

Commemoration of the past is one of the five fundamental activities of Kwanzaa. Unlike alien perceptions of existence, the Afrikan worldview is holistic and true. For the Afrikan, the past is not isolated, dislocated, distinct nor separate from the now or future. The past is continual flow. The past is in the then, the past is in the now and the past is in the tomorrows to come into eternity. For the Afrikan the past informs the now and all that is to come in the grand Afrikan continuum.

Sacred verse from the Afrikan wisdom tradition articulates guidance from Orunmila (deity of wisdom knowledge and utterance) in articulating the living past, the living history of the Afrikan soul. Despite the disruption Afrikans face in the Maafa of recent centuries the living knowingness of the then, the now and the future tomorrow yields victory:

Kurudi kiroho na Kitamaduni (Spiritual and Cultural Return)

The teachings of Afrikan wisdom were received for Orunmila
when he was going on a spiritual mission on the shore of the ocean,
When he was in the middle of the sacred waters
that gave rise to the  cycles of sixteen for the market of Afrikan prosperity.
The enemy attempted to deny that  Orunmila would return home.
But it came to pass that Orunmila began to cry out in a powerful way, turning his cry into a shout
And he turned his lamentation into a song of sorrow because of the enemy lies and deeds of wickedness against the Afrikan nation.
He called out saying; Sankofa bird, carry me home, O Sankofa.
We do not go on a journey so that we may not return home.
So, Sankofa bird, please carry me home.
Then without delay and for immediate traction for an ever-more  prosperous future,
All Afrikan souls join their Afrikan nation in victorious ascendancy;
Victorious in the fight to safeguard eternal liberty, I am a part of the eternal oneness these victorious souls have come to be.

The powerful symbol of Sankofa represents the living Afrikan history continuum. It means to go back and fetch all that is Afrikan. All the experience of before, informs the now and the future. The lessons of the Afrikan experience empowers the Afrikan to live maximally. The Afrikan in knowingness of self can avoid mistakes, express life rightfully and be sure of rightful direction throughout the eternity to come. Sankofa is a powerful spiritual and cultural symbol of mission-compelling restoration and ascension for the mighty Afrikan continuum.
