Celebrating the Wonderful Observance of Kwanzaa (Annual Reaffirmation)

At the core of the wonderful observance of Kwanzaa are the powerful values of the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles). Each day of the observance gives focus to its respective principle. The sixth day of Kwanzaa is identified with the principle Kuumba which is beautifully summarised in mission compelling detail thus:

Kuumba (Creativity)

To do always as much as we can in the best way we can to make our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.

Here, creativity and creative expression is energised with an inherent duty and responsibility.

On the day of Kuumba (Creativity) the greeting Habari Gani? (What’s the news?) is replied to with Kuumba.

On the day of Kuumba, the third red candle of the Mishumaa Saba (Seven Candles) is lit to illuminate and energise the pragmatic cultural prowess of Kuumba.

On the day of Kuumba, KWANZAA YENU IWE NA HERI (May Your Kwanzaa Be With Happiness).
