Spiritual and Cultural Punctuation in the Afrikan Continuum

The Creator Supreme bestowed upon the marvellous Afrikan souls of the world the deepest and most profound knowingness of sacred universe phenomena. The cyclical orchestrations of time and space by the ultimate source have provided the everlasting crucible from which the Afrikan shapes his or her cycles of nurturing, growth and development throughout spirit life’s unfolding. Special times of the year in the grand Afrikan continuum are a definite part of this emergence. The supreme visionary Marcus Garvey made this manifest with the mighty convention of the Garvey movement. This massive month-long progression first held in the so-called year of 1920 throughout the month with the misnomer of August opened and closed in splendour. It is within this month that the observance of Musa Msimu likewise comes to fruition in honour and celebration of this great example.
On the 24th day of this first Garvey Movement convention. Marcus Garvey eloquently scribes (in part) the following in an editorial letter:
‘The Convention for which we have been preparing ourselves for nearly two and half years is drawing to a close. This Convention in its deliberations has startled the world and given to mankind at large a true estimate of the new [Afrikan]…Delegates have come from the four corners of the world to attend this Convention and every day they have sat through the discussions and debates with such keen interest as to make the leaders of the movement feel satisfied that their work was not all in vain. A new spirit has taken hold of the [Afrikan] in the United States of America, and a similar spirit is now permeating the [so-called] West Indies and Afrika. In very truth it can be said that the leaders of the four hundred million [Afrikans] of the world have received their lessons and have graduated out of this great university of the Convention for the purpose of teaching the scattered millions the doctrine of Liberty’
The Afrikan through the progressive restoration of time for him or herself can create space for self-nurturing and development for the imperative of global Afrikan ascendancy. The Afrikan can again establish institution for cultivation and full flourishing void of foreign enemy validation or control deployed to suit alien genocidal ills that have plagued the Afrikan continuum of recent centuries generating the Maafa.
Naturally and wonderfullly, the magnificent convention of the Garvey movement opened with spiritual and cultural modality through divine service to usher in the progressive month-long period. Likewise, the observance of Musa Msimu opens with the spiritual and cultural modality of its opening ritual and marks the conclusion of the period in the same spiritual and cultural light with its closing ritual.
However, within the imperative of progressive mission the Afrikan must both purge and safteguard him or herself of vile enemy inculcations and other ills. The alien foes of Afrikan ascendancy will disuse, misuse, abuse susceptible Afrikan souls against self-interests and betterment. The great Marcus Garvey highlights this within the same editorial letter:
‘During the Convention one or two negroes in the pay of alien races attempted to play spy and to make statements inimical to the interests of the movement’
Learning, development and nurturing of the self surely must then include the knowingness of who the enemies of Afrikan people are and the foul and destructive tactics these aliens deploy. Here, safeguarding of the ever-upward and eternal Afrikan continuum is key.
The closing ritual of Musa Msimu is no end in any absolute way but a spiritual and cultural punctuator in the grand progression of the Afrikan continuum. It is an enlivener and energiser of what has taken place during the period and what is to come in the ever- progressive continuum as one of the observance periods within the annual cycle of observances comes to a close until it is reopened a year hence. With the ever-upward cyclical spiral of ascendancy gaining ever greater momentum, Musa Msimu (as with the other wonderful annual observances) is a wonderful time to experience as an important part of life’s fabric and a wonderful time to look forward to year on year.
The observance of Musa Msimu takes place during the month of so-called August and is a wonderful time to celebrate the mighty example of Marcus Garvey and the Movement that he created led in order for future generations of Afrikans to have their guide for complete freedom and nationhood. Musa Msimu is a part of the Afrikan Cultural calendar of the Universal Royal Afrikan Nation (URAN).
