Day of Garvey Where Celebrations Hold Spiritual and Cultural Rootedness

The magnificent and beautiful rotational cycles of the universe splendidly orchestrated by the Creator Supreme are wonderful essentials for progressive life throughout sacred domain. Days mark rotational cycles with the powerful Sun rising to magnificence and then setting to reflect energies via the Moon only to rise again in grand ascendancy and so on. The primary and spirit people of Creation are never the side-line spectators of such phenomena. Rather, the supremely blessed Afrikan is a central facet in the cyclical happenings of the divine. The Afrikan is divine. Great ones from the glorious Afrikan pantheon of journeying shine their light of brilliancy and even if not physically visible will reflect in and illuminate others to have powerful spirit ascend again and again. The supreme visionary Marcus Garvey exemplifies Afrikan uplift in the superlative and imperative thrust of global Afrikan ascendancy outstandingly. He shines the light of ascendancy in brilliancy to energise others throughout the global during his physical lifetime and beyond. In his physical lifespan many spirit souls had never been in the physical presence of Marcus Garvey and yet energised by his magnificence to shine their own light for the betterment of the mighty race. Beyond his physical life’s journey Marcus Garvey continues to illuminate multitudes in the self of global Afrikan ascendancy.  The cycles of universe reflected in a day highlights the generational empowerment of the most magnificent people ever to exist. In celebrating Marcus Garvey Afrikan people are imbibing through celebration the pinnacle thrust of self-determined betterment.

During the wonderful Musa Msimu observance the day of Garvey’s coming into physical being is honoured in a powerful way. The 17th of the month is marked with enlivening gathering and activity for the young in the ascending light of eternity and in preparation for main community gathering. The main community gathering punctuates this special time with its own spiritual and cultural ritual and ceremony to energise the Afrikan soul in rootedness of mission. Garvey Days were held on the first Sun-days of every month during his physical life time and this light of brilliancy continues to shine throughout the calendar cycle. Yet still, there is special concentrated effort during Musa Msimu on the 17th of month as a spiritual and cultural honorarium of Marcus Garvey’s emergence and lifting the Garvey spirit in mission of self duty. The Kiswahili word for representing Garvey is Musa. The Kiswahili word for day is Siku. Musa Siku is celebration of profound substance.

Unfortunately, the genocidal interruption of the Maafa has left a horrific scar upon the lives of Afrikan people. Natural cycles of the sacred universe have been disrupted by  foreign parasitic vagabonds who have been hell bent in the attempt to transform a day into a measure of time for their piracy, brutality and murder. Driven by incessant criminality alien forces of anti-Afrikan agency abuse time to clock the maximum amount of enslavement, colonising expansion and other dire ills they can achieve in their unquenchable bloodthirsty tirade. For far too many Afrikan souls the cycle of the day has become a dastardly mark of exclusive effort in subjugation and service to others that mean the Afrikan ill.

Thankfully, the spiritual and cultural restoration of the Afrikan soul facilitates the return to the naturality of divine time as cycles within the sacred universe become again harmonious with the Afrikan positioned at their rightful place of centrality. Celebrating Musa Siku is a wonderful statement in the reclamation of self-determined time. It is a time for rooted empowerment in Garveyism, Musanity and global Afrikan ascendancy.

The observance of Musa Msimu takes place during the month of so-called August and is a wonderful time to celebrate the mighty example of Marcus Garvey and the Movement that he created led in order for future generations of Afrikans to have their guide for complete freedom and nationhood.
