Remembering Omowale Malcolm X

The first people of creation in their unique and intimate connection with the Creator Supreme are naturally endowed with an abundance of spirit force. As such, the life of the Afrikan has a spiritual and cultural basis. Even in the context of hostile alien imposition the Afrikan spiritual base never ceases to be. Though, there are examples where it may be masked or cloaked in various guises due to circumstance or condition, Afrikan spiritual essence is eternal. The great hero Omowale Malcolm X is a spirit of superlative courage and eternal victory. Omowale is a warrior spirit of Ukweli (Truth) and this is clear in his articulations of the ills of foreign or foreign controlled media messaging:

“A press that has perfected image making to a science and then they use these images to make people love whom they will and hate whom they will.”

“The world press as well as the American press can make the victim of a crime look like the criminal and can make the criminal himself look like the victim. You don’t think it’s possible for someone to do that to your mind.”

“If we aren’t aware, we’ll find all these methods of trickery that they have perfected to a science, will be used and we will be manoeuvred into thinking that we’re getting freedom, or thinking that we’re making progress when actually we’ll be going backwards.”

“These methods have been used very skilfully by the power structure, the national power structure as well as the international power structure. And one of the things that you and I as an oppressed people should be on guard against is – as I have said – to be very careful about letting anyone paint our images for us.”

Omowale Malcolm X knew the importance of communicating wholesome messages of Ukweli (Truth) to the Afrikan community. Omowale Malcolm X’s mother Louise had been an important writer for the massively popular Garvey newspaper during his early years and this experience carried forward into his later life expression. As such, he pioneered mass communication to reach and lift Afrikan souls, whether through establishment of a nationwide and international newspaper or through, radio, presentations, appearances, interviews of various sorts. He worked tirelessly to lift Afrikan souls through the word.  Even towards the sunset of his physical lifespan he continued to lift Afrikan souls with the message of global Afrikan ascendancy:

“Our newsletter, the Blacklash, is going to be revised and turned into a newspaper, a more informative newspaper. We’re working on that right now.”
