A Wonderful Part of the Observance of Musa Msimu

The Creator Supreme is the leadership of pinnacle ultimacy that led the creative way for the world and the living to be. The first and spirit people brought forth by the leader supreme of the entire sacred universe is the marvellous Afrikan souls. The unique and intimate connection that the Afrikan holds with the Creative force of the universe is manifest throughout Afrikan life. It is no wonder that the Afrikan souls of the world are natural born leaders with exceptional creative genius flow. The Afrikan wisdom tradition woven within the brilliancy of spiritual and cultural fabric reflects this wonderful substance of being and nurtures, grooms and shapes the excellence of Afrikan leadership from one generation to the next. The supreme visionary Marcus Garvey emerges from the eternal flow of Afrikan wisdom as a superlative leader of this mighty soul people throughout the world. Born into the physical realm on the 17th of the month with the misnomer August of the so-called year 1887, he was steeped in Afrikan tradition of being groomed and shaped for his visionary role from the start:
‘Yet, Mose as he was called, had been named Marcus by his father who believed in planetary influences, and said, ‘Any boy born under the planet Leo - the Lion – when the Sun is in the ascendancy is bound to be a leader in his line’. Mrs Garvey wanted him named Moses, so he compromised and added Mosiah to Marcus, and she said, ‘I hope he will be like Moses and lead his people.’
During the magnificent thrust of the first and grand month-long International Convention of the Garvey movement in the so-called year of 1920, on his Earth Day of the 17th of the month Marcus Garvey penned a profoundly enlightening Editorial Letter which read in part:
‘Leaders have been forced upon us, men of the type that represented the views of an alien race and submerged their manhood for paltry personal gains; men who in the very nature of the circumstance could not and did not represent our views. Within the week we shall elect our own leaders, men who will not be afraid under any and all circumstances to stand up for our rights, who will not sell our birthright for a mess of pottage; men who will not court the favour of any man or any group of men of an alien race, to the detriment of our racial aspirations.
Today the nations of the world are aware that the Negro of yesterday has disappeared from the scene of human activities and his place taken by a New [Afrikan] who stands erect, conscious of his manhood rights and fully determined to preserve them at all costs. They may not be prone to admit this, but they are aware of the fact none the less.
We are determined that your lives must be pitched higher. We must go on to a higher plane, a higher platform, where every [Afrikan] will enjoy the right to expand; where every [Afrikan] will have the right to participate in his own government without let or hinderance. Therefore, we are determined to enforce the principle of “Afrika for the Afrikans at Home and Abroad”.'
With this goal in view it becomes every [Afrikan] to strive for a Free and Redeemed Afrika. We have made some progress in alien lands despite discrimination, lynchings and the thousand wrongs that surround us, but not until the [Afrikan] has a government of his[/her] own will [s/]he have realised that complete liberty which history indicates was the proud possession of his forbears before the ravages of [en]slave[ment].’
In celebrating the Earth Day of Marcus Garvey Afrikan people of the world are celebrating the best of themselves and the divine commitment to the imperative mission of global Afrikan ascendancy. Lifting Garvey is the interconnected lifting of the self with all of the wonderful and progressive responsibilities to duty that represents. As Marcus Garvey was groomed and shaped to become leader magnificent so too each Afrikan ought to be groomed and shaped into natural magnificence beginning from the start, onward, upwards and beyond. In current circumstance of the Maafa, if the start is at the emergence of a child’s physical coming -great! If the start happens to be later in life -great! Embracement of Afrikan awakening and mission is powerful essential with integrity to halt the abominable ills imposed upon Afrikan souls and not to be halted. As the generations of integrity-filled and unwavering multitudes of Afrikans march on in every ascending victory starting then becomes naturally redundant as the upward thrust of this mighty race is completely restored to the fabric of eternal life.
