This is a reiteration of an article (of a series of articles in relation to Omowale Malcolm X and Kwanzaa) first published 24th Jan 2021.

The Ultimate Divine brought Afrikan
souls into being with abundant means by which to fulfil their maximum potential
and maximum capability. This primary and spirit people of creation ushered their
own culture into being to live life of optimal empowerment for themselves. The
high-culture basis of life has been with the Afrikan from the earliest of times
and is the stuff of rooted and continual generational growth and development.
With the devasting disruptions to Afrikan life caused by others that mean the
Afrikan ill, the thrust of creative culturerestoration has naturally come to the fore.
One of the exceptional examples of this thrust has been the observance of
Kwanzaa. Through their philosophy of Kawaida (Tradition), the Us organisation brought forth
a wonderful age-to-age Afrikan world synthesis of Afrikan cultural ‘best’ out
of which this first fruits celebration emerged. A key source of inspiration for
the work of the Us organisation is the great hero Omowale Malcolm X.
The leader of the Us organisation shares his views on the impact of Omowale Malcolm X thus:
“In the Sixties, we had stood up seeing ourselves as descendants of Malcolm with an awesome obligation to wage the [cultural] revolution he had conceived and called for. We thus saw ourselves as servants and soldiers of the people always on post and on point wherever called and needed. Indeed, our motto was/is ‘anywhere we are Us is’. We declared revolution the answer and ourselves the agents of this radical change. As Simba Wachanga – Young Lions, we self-confidently declared, ‘we are the last revolutionaries in America’. If we fail to leave a legacy of revolution for our children, we have failed our mission and should be dismissed as unimportant’. Even older, the message retains its original meaning and urgency, and we remain ever grounded in our culture, unbudging in our Blackness and steadfast in our [fight] to create a just, good and sustainable world and help rebuild the movement to achieve this. For, as we say, if not this then what and if we don’t do it who will?”
The principle of Imani (Faith) is the lasting 7th day energy of the Kwanzaa observance and it also ushers into being the new annual cycle. Omowale Malcolm X is a great hero of Imani (Faith) and his tremendous impact for the emergence of Kwanzaa and otherwise lives on.
May your new annual cycle filled with missioning for the ascension of Afrikan souls be with happiness.
