To remember has always been a key
function in Afrikan life. That which has been informs the present and that which
is present facilitates that which is to come. In the grand continuum of Afrikan
life past, present and future are not separate nor discrete. Rather, they are a
part of continual life flow. Thus, Afrikan people never leave their richly
endowed experience behind. To remember is to be informed and being informed is
foundational to wisdom. Great ones of the Afrikan continuum have been exceptional
in their work to lift and victoriously empower Afrikan life throughout the
world. One such outstanding hero is the great Omowale Malcolm X who continues
to empower Afrikan life through his remembrance and who left clear guidance through
his exceptional insight thus:
“Of all our studies history is best qualified to reward our research”.
According to a popular mainstream platform the word remember means to:
“have in or be able to bring to one's mind an awareness of (someone or something from the past)”.
According to same source it also means to:
“do something that one has undertaken to do or that is necessary or advisable”.
This combination applied to Afrikan life highlights that importance of knowing what has been and what great ones have done in service of Afrikan betterment. It also gives emphasis to doing. More accurately, informed doing. Afrikan history is therefore fundamental to Afrikan life as doing for its own sake void of self-knowingness could be self-destructive (to state the least).
During the Maafa of recent centuries attempts to sever Afrikan people from their history have been deployed by others that mean the Afrikan ill. However, no one can restore knowingness of the Afrikan continuum to Afrikan life except Afrikan souls themselves. As such, wonderful self-determined efforts have been made by Afrikan souls to restore the self in this regard through various bodies of excellent work. At the rooted cultural level of living remembering has been enshrined within annual observance periods at a specific hero level such as Omowale Malcolm X Kukumbuko (Remembrance) or at a more general level by way of Afrikan Historia Msimu (Afrikan History Season). Interestingly, the Omowale Malcolm X remembrance observance period may be a part of history season for Afrikans in places such as the U.S. where it is observed in February. In the U.K. the history season is observed in October though with the Omowale Malcolm X Kukumbuko the remembrance connection is rightfully strengthened throughout the Afrikan world community during February.
To remember is a natural living function. Indeed, Afrikan souls throughout the world can and surely ought to energise their own living remembrance of self. Afrikan souls are surely remembering alive.
The Universal Royal Afrikan Nation (URAN) is an organ that is rooted in spiritual and cultural fabric for the imperative the mission of global Afrikan ascendancy.
