Illuminating the Grand Example of a Magnificent Afrikan Hero

Brightness of light shining from the genius flow of the world’s most wonderful and primary people of Creation brings forth the greatest, most powerful and longest flourishing civilisations of all history. As the sun, the supremely powerful source of energy illuminates the Earth, so too the Afrikan soul lights the superlative ascendancy of their excellent selves throughout the panorama of life’s expression. Whatever the challenges may occur in the physical domain, the eternal spirit of the Afrikan carries the light of forever growth, prosperity and maximum flourishing. Throughout the generations great ones have emerged that exemplify this brilliancy. Special ones that carry the light of Afrikan genius-flow at an exceptional level, ones that charged Afrikan souls with the imperative responsibility to remember themselves and their greatness. Great ones such as this are themselves remembered. The lighting of a candle (amongst much else) is a symbol remembrance and gives light to grand reflection and projection for eternal Afrikan ascendancy. The Kiswahili word for candle is Mishumaa.

With the disruption of the Maafa in recent centuries comes savage enemy stratagem to extinguish the brilliancy of Afrikan light. Many great ones have emerged to remind the Afrikan who and what they truly are and to lift themselves to their rightful and proper place to be. One example of pinnacle greatness is the exceptional hero Omowale Malcolm X who remembered his people all that they had been and all that they must be. He inspired multitudes of Afrikan souls throughout the world to remember themselves, to remember their greatness and always remember to make that manifest. He remembered the Afrikan way of divinity, integrity, uprightness, commitment, dedication and courage and encouraged Afrikan souls to remember the same. He remembered the exceptional nation-building genius of the Afrikan. He remembered race pride and self-determination. He remembered that Afrikan people are one. He was able to shine the light of remembrance upon millions upon millions of Afrikan souls throughout the world and that light continues to illuminate the lives of ever-growing multitudes.

To remember Omowale is for the Afrikan to remember themselves. In remembrance, there is rededication, recommitment, reclamation, rejuvenation and so many other facets that ought to be fabric of Afrikan life in order for all Afrikan people to reach maximum potential and maximum capability. Remembrance is reciprocal, Omowale remembered Afrikans souls with the deepest and most profound depths of love. The self-love the Afrikan must surely restore into his or her life is the love that obliterate the self-hate imposed by the hostile forces of anti-Afrikan agency.

During the observance of Omowale Malcolm X Kukumbuko, a red candle of remembrance is lit giving illuminating the grand example of a magnificent Afrikan hero who remembered and charged all Afrikan souls to remember. The red represents the sacred blood of Afrikan life and all that he gave to the spirit people of Creation so that they can give in return. It also reflects the Ogun the unconquerable warrior deity of justice – the bringer of all that is right that is manifest in Omowale Malcom X. The Mishumaa for Omowale is a wonderful part of the spiritual and cultural fabric during this remembrance observance lit at home and at community gatherings.

Omowale Malcolm X Kukumbuko is a restorative spiritual and cultural observance providing a vehicle for Afrikan people to live their own way of life in the now and in time to come. Omowale Malcolm X Kukumbuko is a part of the cultural calendar of the Universal Royal Afrikan Nation (URAN). The 21st February 1965 (so-called) is the date of the martyrdom of this great hero and the URAN gathering for Kukumbuko takes place on Sunday 21st February (or nearest Sunday) on an annual basis.
