Securing the History of Self: What of Historical Structures?

Celebrating the Great Afrikan History Continuum

It is undeniable truism that throughout the ages that Afrikan souls have determined constructions in service of themselves for eternity. These were not only constructions of physical architecture – as magnificent as those indeed were – many of which remain standing given the eternal intent and despite the attacks and pillaging by others. Constructions were also life constructions of eternity from formulations of spiritual, philosophical and sociological implication, to the building of a vast continuum of historical experience as a grand repository of self-empowerment to be claimed and contributed to from each of their generations to the next.

According to a contemporary mainstream source the term historic structure attracts the following detail:

“A historic structure is "a constructed work . . . consciously created to serve some human activity." Historic structures are usually immovable, although some have been relocated and others are mobile by design”.

If one were to relate such detail specifically to Afrikan life, adaption is surely apt. The result of alteration may look like the following:

“An Afrikan historic structure is a self-determined work of construction consciously created with Afrikan wisdom and genius flow to serve the fullest flourishing and security of Afrikan life. Such historic structures are of longevity and can be physical or otherwise in nature. They may also have the dynamic quality of being mobile. In the physical sense mobility may mean that a structure can be moved from one geographical location to the next. In the non-physical sense life constructions may be created, accessed and utilised by Afrikan souls wherever Afrikan persons are located geographically (here, there or elsewhere)”.

Unfortunately, others that mean the Afrikan ill may take it upon themselves to destroy the truism and access Afrikan souls have to their historical structures. At the same time, ill-intentioned others may also attempt to halt or hamper Afrikan souls creating their Afrikan historical structures in the present.

Despite the challenges of interruption and disruption, Afrikan souls surely have a duty and responsibility to themselves to restore the levels of self-knowingness and cultured living that enable necessary historical structures to be established, and have both the building process and the resultant structures safeguarded.

Whilst there are other necessary types of constructions that are to be brought to the fore, those building efforts for longevity ought to have their special place in Afrikan life. The notion that absolutely everything in Afrikan life must be of a temporary and short-lived nature - that may be pushed and peddled by others of ill – is bogus to state the least. Indeed, Afrikan history itself is not  of a castrated short term memory that only relates to a period of interruption and disruption. Rather, it has been constructed over the longest journeying of any people, is richly endowed and can be seen as a ‘structure’ of continual and vital empowerment. From this civilisation can be realised.

Afrikan Historia Msimu is an observance period for the duration of the tenth month of the year (so-called October). This is a special time for learning, growth and development of the Afrikan experience in the world. It is a time of spiritual and cultural elevation as Afrikan history is restored to fabric of life in the living knowingness of the then, the now and tomorrow. Great ones of the Afrikan journey are highlighted and the symbols relevant to the time invigorate life in the imperative onward flow of global Afrikan ascendancy.  This wonderful observance is a part of the cultural calendar of the Universal Royal Afrikan Nation (URAN).
