Celebrating the Great Marcus Garvey and the Garvey Movement

The supreme visionary Marcus Garvey dedicated is entire being to the betterment of the entire Afrikan world community. Far from being the articulation of any shallow rhetoric, Garvey uttered profound words of wisdom of mission-compelling substance to lift his people as whole. As a powerfully important part of his eternally victorious mission this great hero empowered Afrikan man to bring their natural magnificence to the fore. He eloquently, insightfully and prophetically articulated the following:

“Let the [Afrikan man] forget almost everything else but that he is a man, and as such, has a serious duty and responsibility to perform in life. That duty and responsibility is to force him to the creation and bringing about of all those things that are necessary for human comfort, human happiness, human peace and general security. Whilst the white man today rates himself as being the leader of all races…tomorrow in the centuries to come, the yellow man of Asia may so rate himself with all rights and privileges such as are now enjoyed by the white man. Will the [Afrikan] not [lift himself] toward such an ideal so that he too may hold the reins of world control because of his accomplishments? This is possible fellowmen, but it must be achieved through the strenuous effort of racial character building. Each and every member of the race must fully realise his responsibility. He must make up his mind not to be subservient, not to be a suppliant, not to be a beggar, but to be a doer, an accomplisher, a creator of all that is necessary in the environment of man, whilst a living subject of the greater Creator”.

It is by no accident or happenstance that Marcus Garvey led into fruition the greatest most impactful organized body of Afrikan world souls ever to be made manifest. This is what the divine strength and power of Afrikan manhood can do. Afrikan men must surely cast aside and purge from their being the contaminants of alien ills and lift themselves according to their true genius filled, excellent and mighty nature.

Every Afrikan man regardless of social standing, level of wealth or whatever can look into his own mirror of self and bring to the fore the best of himself. This first man of human creation can shine his light of brilliance in the imperative thrust for global Afrikan ascension, applying himself at whatever relevant or appropriate level.

Garvey forthright challenged Afrikan men to:

“Be a man by doing the deeds of men”
