Celebrating the Great Marcus Garvey and the Garvey Movement

The construction of a building starts with the necessary preparation, planning, design, resources and commitment to realise completion. The erection of a building is for purpose and  is necessarily an organised, ordered and structured operation that not only sets out for success  but sets a firm course to  bring success into being. From one construction can come another, and another until there is a collection of purpose-filled structures that grows into the  physically observable town, city, conurbation and greater. The supreme visionary Marcus Garvey understood the process of construction and forthrightly urged Afrikan souls to build for themselves:

“The [Afrikan] must go to work and hammer out a constructive civilisation, he must participate in every branch of human activity and raise a standard so high as to be comparatively worthy. He must not fall below the yellow man of Asia, nor the white man of Europe or America, because if he does in the scheme of human achievements, he will be regarded as the lowest creature of [the Creator]. [The Creator] looks…upon the world of light and wisdom, and expects man to embrace [the] glorious gifts and use them to his benefit. Man must pay tribute to the Almighty through his works. White and yellow men are doing so in development of their particular civilisation. The [Afrikan] man must now harness himself to nature and show and prove his worthiness. While other people have wrought with great energy, even to the point of exhaustion, the [Afrikan] has not yet started, but still has to build his particular world. He has to raise his particular civilisation to a standard that others can pay tribute to him. Let us get ready”.

Of course, building by and for Afrikan souls comes with its challenges. The alien forces of anti-Afrikan agency have made themselves infamous in this regard and this ought to be safeguarded against. However, there are also alien contaminating ills to purge from the Afrikan self throughout its various levels for optimally progressive results void of hinderance and even self-sabotage. Is the  Afrikan  contaminated to self-sabotage the building from the Afrikan self? Is the Afrikan contaminated to self-sabotage building from and for the  harmonious and complementary Afrikan male-female union? Is the Afrikan contaminated to self-sabotage building from and for the Afrikan family?  Is the Afrikan contaminated to self-sabotage building from and for the Afrikan community? Is the Afrikan contaminated to self-sabotage building from and  for the Afrikan nation and beyond?

These are questions every Afrikan can ask of the self with the honesty that is cultivated out of living knowingness of the self. In this, the building process remains firm and forthright taking responsibility  for the unique particulars of of the Afrikan condition and actioning accordingly for success in imperative construction.  For the Afrikan building is a the victorious effort of longevity.

Garvey brought mission-compelling clarity:

"Organise Now, Or Perish!"
