Nationhood: the Highest Ideal

Celebrating the Great Marcus Garvey and the Garvey Movement

Amongst his many profound, prophetic and powerful words of wisdom, the supreme visionary Marcus Garvey shared clear and foundational utterance on the pinnacle importance of nationhood in progressive Afrikan life:

“Nationhood is the only means by which modern civilisation can completely protect itself. Independence of nationality, independence of government, is the means of protecting not only the individual, but the group. Nationhood is the highest ideal of all peoples”.

Nationhood and nation-building is age-old vital Afrikan functioning and the great Marcus Garvey in his profound knowingness of this challenged Afrikan souls to restore this thrust of substance to their being. At the same time, exposing the bogus anti-Afrikan propaganda and agenda of alien forces that mean the Afrikan ill:

“If the [Afrikan] is inferior why circumvent him; why suppress his talent and initiative; why rob him of his independent gifts; why fool him out of the rights of country; why imprison his intelligence and exploit his ignorance; why keep him down by the laws of inequality? Why not leave him alone to his own intelligence; why not give him a chance to grow and develop as he sees fit; why not free him from the incubus of a ‘forced upon’ superiority; why not allow him free and unhampered, to travel toward nationhood?”

Are alien institutions talking Afrikan souls out of their natural imperative of nationhood and nation-building?  Indeed, if Afrikan souls are shoehorned from their highest ideal then the highest ideal of the Afrikan person self, the highest ideal of the harmonious complementary Afrikan male-female union, the highest ideal of the Afrikan family and the highest ideal of the Afrikan community is thwarted. Fortunately, there are progressive Afrikan souls who have in the past - and those who continue in the present -  to rightly and courageously inspire, encourage and empower Afrikan souls in the thrust of self-determined nationhood (even if they are compelled to function within the realms of an alien institution). These progressive souls with victorious foresight and fortitude acquire and utilise tools for the necessary restoration and elevation of Afrikan nationhood.

In contemporary times of interruption and disruption to Afrikan life there are many vices and ploys to deny Afrikan people’s highest ideal. There can even be the tendency for personal disagreements or because of particular types of reporting on the subject that has been impacted upon by alien contaminates such as that of misandry, misogyny or the likes of feminism, to result in a sort of ‘throwing the baby away with the bathwater’ approach where the Afrikan’s natural highest ideal is akin to the baby’s life.

Nationhood is genuine, authentic and victorious Afrikan substance to be restored. This ‘highest ideal’ is brought to fullest and victorious fruition by the masculine Afrikan man and the feminine Afrikan woman. Indeed, highest ideals are a firm part of divine Afrikan masculine manhood and divine Afrikan feminine womanhood. The imperative thrust of Afrikan elevation continues. With upward pioneering thrust ‘new’ endeavours can emerge and be celebrated. The   progressive substance of what has been can be empoweringly harnessed and creatively restored as necessary. From generation to generation the Afrikan continuum is not artificially and detrimentally truncated but grows in its magnificent wealth of incessant living knowingness.

Afrikan souls have a grand inheritance to claim and despite recent alien strategy forms fundamental substance of the alien’s ideals remain for his foreign self. Afrikans have a natural birthright to their  own  highest ideals and living legacy of those progressive Afrikan souls that have victoriously expressed it.  Garvey reminds Afrikan souls:

“The [Afrikan] is the father of civilisation. He constructed the first government in Afrika and thereby taught others the way. Always seek to improve”.
