All-Year-Round Cultivation

By the grace of the Creator Supreme the primary and spirit people of Creation came to be. This marvellous people naturally established their own their own spiritual way of life. Spiritual life is not distinct nor is it detached from the life that is lived. In the Afrikan worldview such a detachment would be nonsensical. Indeed, such a state  could not truly be living. Therefore, to have culture over here and spirituality separate over there is unnatural and alien to Afrikan life. Wholeness of Afrikan life naturally contains harmony and interconnectedness in its function especially as it is core to Afrikan living. Therefore, the way of life that Afrikan people have cultivated themselves to live is inextricably elevated by the spiritual form of the same fabric.

From thriving nation to thriving nation throughout the annals of Afrikan history spirituality was not considered a separate entity to the life lived. Rather, the way of life was the total way of life. Often, in historical hindsight, a particular nation and its way of life, spiritually and otherwise, is identified in oneness with the main language group of the particular region.

With the vast dispersal of Afrikan souls, even if through the horrific deeds of others that mean the Afrikan ill, Afrikan souls are a world community. In this, some Afrikans continue to live in the ways of their age-old traditional groupings that still thrive on the continent, some have blended old ways with new modalities, have been imposed upon with foreign contemporary religious doctrine and so on. Yet, there  is an Afrikan way that exists at a level that is accessible to-all Afrikan souls, that is not unique to any particular geographical region, that utilises a language form also not limited to any specific locale. In describing it this way, it may seem fantastical beyond reality. However, it exists and it thrives as a wonderful annual observance period. It’s value system is the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles), it’s language is Kiswahili and it’s name is Kwanzaa. It is born out of a progressive process of creative restoration and cultural synthesis for an Afrikan people of oneness.

If then, Afrikan souls live by the Nguzo Saba and practice the relevant ways expressed via Kwanzaa throughout the year and the Afrikan is spirit then spirituality surely energises this Afrikan way in harmonious interconnectedness. Afrikan spirituality lives at this level and has a progressive framework from which it can be usefully expressed in energising Afrikan life’s practical, necessary and righteous engagement wherever the Afrikan is located in the world.

Hence, Afrikan Spirituality By Way of Kwanzaa (ASBWOK) is simply acknowledging and articulating the spirituality of the Afrikan that can cultivate and express in accessible form through the worldwide phenomena of Kwanzaa. ASBWOK then, can be expressed wherever Afrikan souls find themselves throughout the world and all-year-round.

The inspirational, profound and deeply meaningful impact  of the great hero Omowale Malcolm X is undeniable in the coming forth of Kwanzaa and the practice of ASBWOK. According the leader of the Us, the organisation responsible for the creative restoration project that brought forth Kwanzaa:

‘Surely the imperishable character of Malcolm X and his meaning to us and the world lies unavoidably in his tireless and self-sacrificing work and [fight] to transform himself, liberate his people and bring good into the world’.

Universal Royal Afrikan Spirituality of the Universal Royal Afrikan Nation utilises ASBWOK. Here, Afrikan Spirituality is a vital part of life’s functioning.  It is a living of wholesome oneness where the various observance times of year each have there spiritual-cultural symbols and focus all in complementary and harmonious fabric, each observance to the next. And of course, the grand annual yield of growth, development, achievement, progress, elevation and so on are celebrated during the Kwanzaa observance celebratory period itself.

The Universal Royal Afrikan Nation (URAN) is an organ that is rooted in spiritual and cultural fabric for the imperative the mission of global Afrikan ascendancy. Throughout its annual observance calendar cycle URAN energises active knowingness in and from the core spirit levels of Afrikan beingness.
