Remembering Omowale Malcolm X

The first people of creation in their unique and intimate connection with the Creator Supreme are naturally endowed with an abundance of spirit force. As such, the life of the Afrikan has a spiritual and cultural basis. Even in the context of hostile alien imposition the Afrikan spiritual base never ceases to be. Though, there are examples where it may be masked or cloaked in various guises due to circumstance or condition, Afrikan spiritual essence is eternal. The great hero Omowale Malcolm X studied incessantly, and highlighted the importance of learning-of-substance for mission. Education in knowledge of self is vital for the imperative thrust of Afrikan ascendancy:
“Education is an important element in the [fight] for [Afrikan] rights. It is the means to help our children and our people rediscover their identity, and thereby increase their self-respect. Education is our passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs only to the people who prepare for it today.”
The emphasis on the young necessarily requires education in the knowledge of self of both the Afrikan man and the Afrikan woman. In the context of hostile foreign enemy imposition, the Afrikan man and woman can be denied knowledge of self. This dire circumstance can be exacerbated for the Afrikan nation because the importance of Afrikan-centred womanhood is denied and removed from the imperative participation in the education of self:
“If you’re in a country that reflects the consciousness toward the importance of education, it’s because the woman is aware of the importance of education. But in every backward country you’ll find the women are backward. And in every country where education is not stressed it’s because the women don’t have education.”
There are some basic things that the Afrikan can do in the elevation of self and nation. A suggestion of one such thing as articulated by this great hero is:
“Once your work is finished find something constructive to add to your mind. Have an hour for reading.”
Learning independently of foreign institutions is key to Afrikan world independence. As the Afrikan soul from the young to the more senior, male and female take charge of their learning experience so too they take charge of their lives and become equipped to lift themselves to their natural and maximal state of beingness.
