Remembering Omowale Malcolm X

The first people of creation in their unique and intimate connection with the Creator Supreme are naturally endowed with an abundance of spirit force. As such, the life of the Afrikan has a spiritual and cultural basis. Even in the context of hostile alien imposition the Afrikan spiritual base never ceases to be. Though, there are examples where it may be masked or cloaked in various guises due to circumstance or condition, Afrikan spiritual essence is eternal. The great hero Omowale Malcolm X walked in living knowingness of the Afrikans’ spiritual power and why its expression is vital in the imperative of organising for Afrikan ascendancy:
“This is what you have to understand, as long as that strong spiritual power was in the Movement – it gave the moral strength to the believer that would enable him to rise above all his negative tendencies. I know because I went into the Movement with more negative tendencies than anybody in the Movement. And just faith in what I was taught made it possible to stop doing anything that I was doing and everything that I was doing. And I saw thousands of brothers and sisters come in who were in the same condition and whatever they were doing would stop it overnight, just through faith and faith alone. And by this spiritual force giving one the faith that enabled me to exercise the moral discipline it became an organisation that was to be respected as well as feared.”
Indeed, as Afrikan souls of the world become ever-increasingly at one with their own spiritual and cultural way of life, the masks, cloaks or guises that can render the Afrikan spiritual form subdued (at best) can be cast off and the Afrikan way can thus be maximally revealed for fully flourishing Afrikan nationhood throughout the world. Of course, faith was later to become explicitly restored as Imani in the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles). Omowale Malcolm X articulated transformation thus:
“I think that everything today on this Earth is being modernised: religious principles and practices as well as political and other things.”
