This is a reiteration of an article first published on 25th May 2021

Afrikan souls naturally journey in ascension. That is the onward journeying in life is,  as best as it is possible to do, a march of betterment in the context of the greater good. Celebrating Afrikan liberation is celebration of the progressive engagement in a powerful and necessary process of betterment. Such a process does not exist in isolation as its own stand-alone entity. It is a process that has the natural requirement of the purposeful and genuine liberator. Such a process does not exist for its own sake. It is a process that necessarily produces victorious results for Afrikan liberty and nationhood. This is process that has structure and order as it yields structured and ordered outcomes of elevation.

The wonderful celebration of Afrika Ukombozi Siku (Afrika Liberation Day) is a time to energise the Afrikan liberator self in progressive process. As with all the living observances throughout the annual cycle this observance is rooted in spiritual and cultural fabric. Therefore, whist celebratory events, gatherings and so on take place (and rightly so) to collectivise with purpose. These are outward expressions of core fabric of living at the spiritual and cultural observance level. In this, one cannot go to Afrika Ukombozi Siku – it is that time. Just a one cannot go to Kwanzaa for it just is that time.

In many European societies it would be considered nonsensical to ask of someone, ‘Are you going to Halloween this year?’. People may go to an event as an expression of the time such as the Halloween dance or party. But for the European adherents it is simply that time of year because its depth of importance to these societies is at a level deeper than the outward expression of an event.

This is surely naturally more profound with the primary people of the world who brought forth observance and celebration into the world in the first place as a part of life’s functional ascendancy. Thus, even the Afrikan approach to, and level of importance in having a celebratory observance time for liberation in the now is part of the liberation process itself.  Further, surely it is the actual life process of liberation engaged in, that gives meaning to the time period. And it is with its liberators, structure, order and victorious results to achieve that allow for this necessary life process to be realised.

Afrika Ukombozi Siku (Afrika Liberation Day) just is. This powerful time is certainly to be celebrated as Afrikan souls lift themselves in the imperative organised thrust for their own self-determined liberty and nationhood.

The observances of Omowale Malcolm X Siku (celebration of this great liberator who is known as an Ogun) and Afrika Ukombozi Siku are part of the spiritual and cultural observance calendar of the Universal Royal Afrikan Nation (URAN). Throughout the year (observance to observance) harmonious complementarity is manifest in the holistic fabric of the whole annual cycle. These two observances relate to each other in a number of special ways. One such way is the emphasis of, and imperative connection of the Afrikan Liberator with the process of Afrikan Liberation.  Afrikan souls, being a part of an organ for mission ascendancy is key for both liberator and liberation. The Universal Royal Afrikan Nation is a spiritually and culturally rooted organ for Afrikan ascension.
