Celebrating the Great Marcus Garvey and the Garvey Movement

The supreme visionary Marcus Garvey is a spirit unrelenting and victorious in the mission to better Afrikan life throughout its various levels. This great hero knew the importance of the harmonious and complementary Afrikan male-female union and family in the Afrikan continuum and for ascension. He lifted multitudes upon multitudes of Afrikan souls to the ideals of this imperative. And despite a previous attempt that necessarily ended in divorce, Garvey missioned on to victoriously establish union with a special soul of dedication and commitment amongst the number of his organ for Afrikan elevation. This special soul became is second and eternal spouse, she openly reflects on the experience thus:

“He must have someone who had the right to be his personal representative – to act on his behalf, and on his instructions. A secretary would only be brushed aside as an employee, and dismissed too. He must get a wife…The duty of sharing his…life might have been requested of Miss Davis; he admired her, as she was dignified, charming, and an able speaker; but she was older than he, and he had hopes of having a son to carry on his name. There were other eligible among the membership, but they lacked the sum of qualities of what he wanted for a wife now – a stand-in, in an emergency. Again, he turned to me, and very adroitly put the onus on me, stating that it was in my power to help the organization…He had already obtained a divorce, so we were married July 27”.

Marcus Garvey, from his profound depth of knowingness, experience and the lessons gleaned from his first terminated marriage made a highly informed selection that took process and time at which to arrive. Wonderfully, Amy Jacques honestly, keenly, openly and with integrity of commitment accepted the opportunity, not only to his own personal benefit and the personal benefit of Amy Jacques - this glorious union was established and flourished with tremendous benefit to the Afrikan world as a whole.

Of his eternal wife Amy Jacques Garvey, Marcus Garvey said:

“I feel sure that a day will come when the whole world will know the story of her noble sacrifice for the cause I love so much”.

Amy Jacques continually shared her ever-praising light on the great Marcus Garvey in richly endowed published works, even after the passing of this exceptional Afrikan man whom she intimately and formerly dedicated herself to had made his transition into the ancestral realm she articulated the following as result of her travels:

“I was treated royally everywhere I went: To the Afrikan I represented the spirit of Marcus Garvey, the ‘Returned One’”.

There is surely much by way of continued inspiration and lessons of empowerment that can be gleaned from this aspect of the Garvey experience in this time. Afrikan souls, previously wed or not can forthrightly come together to form or maintain necessary harmonious and complementary Afrikan male and female unions for wholesome Afrikan living. Afrikan certainly, need not shy aware from such unions established within the  context of an organ such as the Universal Royal Afrikan Nation (URAN) functioning in mission of Afrikan ascension. Indeed, shared membership fabric within a progressive body may well be the stuff of importance for eternal success. After all, from the level of leadership to the level of apprentice the integrity-filled thrust of Afrikan nationhood is a victoriously binding one.
