Divinity in the Contemporary World

The spiritual formulation of ASBWOK (Afrikan Spirituality By Way of Kwanzaa) both harmonises with the cultural fabric of Kwanzaa and the Nguzo Saba (Seven Principles) as well as with the various expressions of regional traditions of Afrika. It certainly does not negate the upright practices within any locale. Instead, it provides a framework on the spiritual plain that can be shared throughout the Afrikan world punctuating the rooted oneness that Afrikan souls hold. ASBWOK is therefore, is dynamic in its substance as it provides a spiritually unifying vehicle for existing practitioners of a local tradition whilst also providing a vehicle of spiritual engagement for those Afrikans that have no local tradition and wish to engage with Afrikan spirituality.
ASBWOK has a number of core themes that are commonalities within the natural norm Afrikan life.
Core themes within ASBWOK are:
1) Living knowingness of the Creator Supreme
2) Living knowingness of the Great Ancestors
3) Living knowingness of the self
4) Application of the shrine
5) Purposeful ingathering
Application of the Shrine
The Afrikan shrine is a descriptor firstly of the Afrikan self throughout its various levels. The specialness and sacredness of the Afrikan self is living phenomena. Thus, the Afrikan shrine of self denotes the importance of the living shrine throughout its various levels as well as the responsibility that Afrikans have to its ascension as sacred entity. So, the sacredness of the person self is cultivated as determined by the Afrikan and expressed accordingly. The sacredness of the harmonious and complementary Afrikan male-female union as determined by the Afrikan is cultivated and expressed accordingly. The sacredness of the Afrikan family as determined by the Afrikan is cultivated and expressed accordingly. The sacredness of the Afrikan community as determined by the Afrikan is cultivated and expressed accordingly. The sacredness of the Afrikan nation as determined by the Afrikan is cultivated and expressed accordingly. The sacredness of the Afrikan world community as determined by the Afrikan is cultivated and expressed accordingly. As Afrikans necessarily develop, build and secure their lives throughout its levels for optimal ascension, the living shrine of the Afrikan self is being applied.
By extension, special places of spiritual focus can then be established to punctuate the continual elevation of the self. This is shrine space. It is a haven of Afrikan solace utilised throughout the levels of the self that is an outward expression of the natural haven and solace cultivated in self-determined Afrikan beingness. From the home to wider communal shrine space, physical shrine space is a necessary station of empowerment for the Afrikan person self, the Afrikan harmonious and complementary male-female union, the Afrikan family, the Afrikan community, the Afrikan nation and the Afrikan world community. The Kwanzaa shrine (with all of its wonderful and deeply meaningful symbols that is readily accessible to Afrikan souls throughout the world) is an example that can provide a base or foundation for an all-year-round shrine (say) within the home. From this base, symbols to ensure that the Afrikan masculine man has his rightful substance of being energised and the Afrikan feminine woman has her rightful substance of being energised for a harmonious and complementary union, for wider Afrikan familyhood and so on can be explicitly added. Physical shrine space then is ordered, structured and applied as an energising vehicle that has elements to reflect its purpose in relation to each level of the self (amongst other things) as the self is naturally of ordered, structured and upright functioning.
Despite the efforts of others that mean the Afrikan ill who sought to destroy the Afrikan shrine of self and shrine space during the Maafa of recent centuries, the Afrikan must prevail. The restoration of the living shrine of self and its outwardly expressed space is something only the Afrikan can do. And victoriously do surely the Afrikan must.
Kimungu Madhabahuni is a time of year to celebrate the Afrikan shrine at home and beyond. Kimungu Madhabahuni takes place during the holiday period associated with the spring equinox. At this time many people are away from the mundane of the various institutions albeit largely as a dictate of presently popular foreign religious doctrine. This therefore, can allow many more Afrikan people the time and space to restore, elevate and be themselves freely in reverence at their own special places.Throughout the annual cycle of the spiritual and cultural calendar of the Universal Royal Afrikan Nation observance to observance, Afrikan life is endowed with the essential of living knowingness.
